Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, and Maintainable and delivered on time. WLE consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our WLE disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.

Job Summary:

The Mission Support & Sustainment Department seeks an experienced Systems Engineer based out of Andover, MA.

In this role you’ll support the following:

  • Development and update of technical manuals and repair guides

  • Development and update of processes, procedures, training materials and training equipment used to train civilian and military personnel to operate and support the product

  • Planning and conducting documentation validation and verification events

  • Coordinating the flow of technical information and data between technical writers and engineering teams

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Executing and leading tasks in the areas of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Sustainment Analysis, and Sustainment Planning, including identification and elevation of technical and schedule risks.

  • Developing engineering white papers and presentations to help inform customers and influence support decisions

  • Ensuring the technical integrity, suitable quality, and adherence to standards for logistics artifacts supporting Logistics, Provisioning, Field Support, Intermediate Level Maintenance, and Depot Level Maintenance through engagement in peer reviews, program reviews, design reviews, failure review boards, investigation teams, and working groups

  • Defining and promoting technical strategies for long-term product sustainment

  • Developing operator-level and maintainer-level documentation for complex effector and sensor systems

  • Informing and collaborating with the functional management, program management, and execution team to ensure technical success while balancing goals, approaches, and risks

    Domestic & International travel may be required (approximately 10% domestic and 5% international)

    This position can be a salary grade P2 or P3 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, education and responsibility requirements for the position.

For a grade level P3, an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience may be considered for this role. A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this role at this grade level.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Education: BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Chemistry

Employment Experience:

  • 2+ years’ engineering experience in a military or civilian environment

  • Related experience in logistics, sustainment, support plans, system fielding, proposals, integration, life cycle management or technical manual development

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Broad knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) processes, including sustainment and supportability principles and concepts
