An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for a Semiconductor Process Engineer to join our focal plane array wafer fabrication team in the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department.
As a member of the AMS Department, the individual in this role will serve as a process engineer to lead and execute process development efforts, assist in process sustainment and improve product yield for focal plane array fabrication in the production wafer foundry. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of microelectronics processing techniques such as deposition, etch, photolithography, metrology, scanning electron microscopy, and wafer-level packaging with expertise in one or more of these areas.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Engineering support and training for manufacturing personnel, review of process data trends, and failure analysis of yield drivers, all with a goal of reducing rework and scrap and increasing efficiency in the process line.
Identifying yield and process improvement opportunities, gathering sponsorship and team resources, and driving teams to continuous improvement.
Presence on the manufacturing floor is essential for quick resolution of issues, and reaction time to prevent interruption to customer commitments critical.
Large degree of multitasking with attention to detail while managing priorities depending on the nature of the problems and the commitments to customers or other program leads.
The ability to work well in small, cross-functional teams is essential.
This position can be a Process Engineer II (G07) or Sr Process Engineer I (G08) based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Two (2) years of related work experience for the G07 salary grade, and four (4) for the G08 salary grade
Experience in semiconductor processing techniques including photo lithography, dry etching, metals evaporation, and inspections
Experience troubleshooting a diverse set of fabrication equipment in addition to establishing equipment qualification and preventative maintenance procedures
Proficient in statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods (e.g., Six Sigma)
Qualifications We Value:

Ability to lead and coordinate technical projects with diverse and cross-functional teams
Experience with characterizing, understanding, and improving semiconductor device performance and reliability
