Sustainment & Sensors Mission Area
Sustainment and Sensors consolidates three valuable sides of Raytheon Missiles & Defense’s (RMD) business:
Sustainment provides products and services to the customer after production sale that maintain, improve and prolong operational availability, including modifications and modernization.
Sensor Product Line brings RMD’s radar manufacturing and software expertise for high-value and high-volume components under one roof, reducing costs, driving out inefficiencies and improving overall quality.
Business in Transition leads the smooth transfer of programs and franchises from other RMD mission areas into SSMA, ensuring their organization and mission remain aligned with the RMD business strategy.
Raytheon Missile & Defense is looking for a talented Sr Manager for our Sustainment and Sensor Mission Area Sensor Hardware Program Area to manage the Transmit Receive (TR) Subsystems production. The Manager will be accountable for a multi-functional team to ensure successful cost, schedule, and execution performance of the TRIMM and SLAT production for multiple business areas, valued at $0.5B.The individual will be a program key leader and integral to our overall product line success.
The manager sets production strategy and vision, and provides daily tactical direction for program execution by multifunctional teams and sub-contractors with operations in Andover MA and other RTX/RFC/supplier/Customer locations. This individual acts as the primary contact and will manage a team of direct reports, matrix employees from functions across the business, contractors, and external vendors.
Meeting financial, quality, technical, and schedule performance using approved business models and management tools including EVMS, IPDS, PRISM, etc
Establishes an executable baseline and manages risk and opportunity
Sets milestones and monitors adherence to program master plans and schedules
Uses approved control systems and reports to accurately measure progress, identifying potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken
Supervises and integrates the performance of the program Integrated Product Teams and functional organizations
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with business areas and interfaces directly with the Directors and PMs for each production program
Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on performance, production forecasting, OPS reviews and EACs
Providing and executing the strategic vision and direction for improvements of engineering activities required to achieve success within the Mission Area
Provide the technical leadership and direction to resolve program challenges by ensuring robust design processes are followed, and engineering staff is available to support all of the programs
Execution of contractual obligations in accordance with cost, schedule, and technical requirements
This position requires a current Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Ability to engage and collaborate across the Raytheon enterprise to develop Product Line strategies in support of new business initiatives that require integrated organizational solution sets
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
12+ years of prior relevant experience, preferably in Program Management and Production
Strong program management skills, demonstrated results leading and collaborating across functions and the enterprise
Experience with leading diverse teams through the full software/systems engineering lifecycle
Experience presenting to senior leadership
United States Citizenship
Existing DOD Secret Level clearance or higher
Master’s Degree or PhD in Engineering, Science or Mathematics
Prior experience with DOD Design and Development Programs
Desirable to have submitted technical papers or invention disclosures potentially leading to patents or trade secrets
Proven demonstration of leadership competencies, especially influential communications, strategic thinking, cultivating innovation, collaboration, developing talent, customer focus, and driving results
Must successfully communicate with all levels of the organization including President, VPs, management and individual contributor levels
Program Management Certification
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
Advanced degree preferred.
Experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), material flow and procurement
