Job Description :
A module lead/product engineering opportunity currently exists for a senior level engineer to join our fast paced microelectronics technology development organization as a Senior Principal RF Engineer.
The Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications and is a part of Raytheon Missiles and Defense.
In this position, the chosen candidate will support the design, development, and transition to production of RF modules.
He or she will lead a team of multi-disciplined engineers to design transmit and receive RF modules for radar applications and EW systems.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting program proposals, initial concept developments, execution of the product development and transition to production activities.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of RF and 3D electromagnetic modeling.
A deep understanding of MMIC design & characterization as well as PCB/TFN circuit layout is required.
The candidate should have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Works to develop technical solutions to complex MMIC and module problems that require the use of ingenuity and resourcefulness.

Has the ability to determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
Supports MMIC designers, module designers, packaging engineers, test engineers, the research and development teams and engage with the operations organization to advance emerging technologies resulting in new product / business opportunities for Raytheon.
Serves as a technical resource and represents the department as a technical contact to Raytheon as well as external customers.
Candidate will be a team player and interact with all levels of the organization.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with ADS, HFSS and AutoCad or similar.
• Demonstrated understanding of test parameters.
• Experience with design and manufacturing of Microelectronic assemblies.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Strong computer skills.
Experience with Radar/EW system design architecture.
Experience with design and manufacturing of GaAs/GaN MMICs.
Experience with such as S-parameters, P1dB, noise figure, and TOI, and test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, and power meters/sensors.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Independent problem solving techniques.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related science or engineering curriculum.
BS in Electrical Engineering or related science or engineering curriculum
