An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior or Principal Process Engineer (ebeam workcenter) to join our Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon Missiles & Defense in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.
As part of the process engineering team, the individual in this role will be tasked to support both the MMIC production and development teams in the area of electron beam lithography. The role is primarily centered on building expertise in our ebeam toolset from both an execution and maintenance perspective. The successful candidate will have had prior experience in ebeam processing and ideally will have had ebeam tool ownership in a production manufacturing environment (though academic experience will be considered). Given the varied needs between production and development tasks, the ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter who is able to balance the needs of both. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in the adjacent processing functions such as ebeam resist processing and metrology.
From a production perspective, the candidate will interact with the layout team to validate ebeam CAD files, set up ebeam jobs to support production execution, and work to boost general workcenter efficiency. From a development perspective, the candidate will collaborate with world-class foundry engineers and MMIC designers to support the development of next-generation integrated circuits through novel process engineering of critical features. As an ebeam engineer, the successful candidate will support rapid equipment troubleshooting as well as support the training of ebeam technicians
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Maintain production ebeam tools
Interface with Foundry Services to ensure error-free production ebeam CAD files
Collaborate with design engineering and the research and development teams to support the development of next-gen integrated circuits
Disposition of systemic non-conforming WIP and mitigate/eliminate error conditions to support foundry metrics such as scrap, rework, cycle time, etc.
Support execution of DOEs for process development
Act independently to uncover and resolve issues
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for an additional two years of experience.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other STEM field
Five or more years of relevant ebeam experience (eight or more years for consideration for Principal Engineer)
Ability to program and troubleshoot ebeam equipment
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:

Initiative and ability to execute project work and root cause analysis to address yield issues and rework reduction efforts
Ability to provide operator training and conduct certification evaluation process
Ability to create, document, and maintain work instructions
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and related SPC software
