Role Overview:
Collins Aerospace ARINCDirect seeks an Aircraft Performance Management Analyst to join our aircraft performance team in Annapolis, MD. As an Aircraft Performance Management Analyst, you'll work to provide aircraft performance and weight-and-balance data solutions to aircraft operators using ARINCDirect flight planning services. The Aircraft Performance Management Analyst will apply knowledge of aircraft systems, operator policies and regulatory requirements to develop, engineer, and enhance aircraft performance calculation software to meet customer needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers to enhance existing systems and improve climb, cruise, descent, hold and engine out schedules to make more accurate flight planning calculations
Engineer new aircraft performance data using published OEM data as the basis
Upload new aircraft types into our flight planning system
Ongoing aircraft performance data maintenance
Improving current aircraft performance data
Document system changes and improvements
Use advanced mathematical principles and programming techniques to assist with solving large- and small-scale aircraft performance problems
Work independently and with internal development teams to develop and test full system functionality
Communicate aircraft performance and weight-and-balance related information to internal staff and customers
Qualifications
Scientific programming and scripting experience
Demonstrated ability to perform numerical analysis and possess strong mathematical aptitude
Availability to provide after hours on-call support
Demonstrated ability to create and improve aircraft climb, cruise, descent, hold and engine out schedules
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies as the need arises
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a small groups
A passion for aviation
Preferred qualifications:
Experience as a pilot, flight operations engineer, aircraft performance engineer or aircraft dispatcher
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, or other highly quantitative fields
Experience as a Performance Engineer at an OEM
Basic Qualifications:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree , 11 years of relevant experience is required.
