Collins Aerospace's Government Services group is seeking an individual to lead a strategic pursuit area within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As the FAA looks to modernize its infrastructure and information management systems for our National Airspace System (NAS), Collins plays a critical role in this. This Senior Manager/Value Stream Leader (VSL) will lead this effort which will include interaction with customers and industry partners to position us for winning. This person will also have the responsibility for coordinating the Integrated Project Teams including Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Contracts and Legal.

The role will report to the Director of Government Services.

This position can be based remotely and may require 10%-25% travel (depending on base location).

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead the FAA strategic pursuit for Collins IMS and provide recommendations on winning in this segment with the expected content to position IMS for the future. This includes working with matrixed functional teams for strategy development, solution design, cost/pricing, and partner support.

  • The role will then continue with the responsibility for the successful execution of the pursuit; this will include strategy execution to specified FAA and partner metrics.

  • The Senior Manager will support other existing FAA contracts, and strategic government pursuits as identified by the Government Services Strategy.

  • The role will closely collaborate with the peers across the IMS and CANS portfolios.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Demonstrated multi-year experience working in/with FAA or Government programs

  • Demonstrable relevant aviation industry knowledge and experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in financial, management and/or technical related discipline

  • Experience with strategy development and execution

  • Excellent customer-oriented attitude

  • Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) and administrative skills

  • Strong interpersonal and people matrix management skills

  • Strong business acumen

  • Possesses strong strategic, critical and problem-solving thinking
