This role is responsible for setting the standards for software quality, test methodologies, and the overall direction and architecture in test. Undertakes multidisciplinary research, and works on system capabilities analysis to determine user and organizational needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Defining, implementing, and improving automated and manual test strategies and methods across the ARINCDirect product suite.

  • Collaborating with the test team and the other engineering disciplines to facilitate expansion of automated and manual testing, and expand the team as needed to meet business and engineering requirements.

  • Assisting the organization manager in a senior role on the test team and as a liaison with other engineering disciplines and matrixed or supplemental test staff.

  • Defining and enforcing standards, assisting with project estimation, and having a significant role in the test technology roadmap.

  • Providing input to engineering and development teams regarding software quality practices and test coverage

  • Additional responsibilities as required:

  • Executing of test plans and procedures

  • Regression, functional, and performance testing

  • Execution of the test plan including both automated and manual testing where applicable

  • Writing and executing queries to interpret test results and create test data

  • Isolating and reporting functional bugs

  • Tracking fixes and features using our configuration management tools

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with test architecture and methodology and test engineering experience on complex highly available software

  • Experience preparing system documentation, test plans, or test procedures

  • Experience writing and debugging automated test scripts

  • Experience working with customers (both internal and external) on requirements, testing, and system documentation

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, engineers and developers

  • Ability to analyze error conditions and develop appropriate solutions

  • Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation

  • Analytical, communication, and especially team skills

  • Experience with API testing (Rest Assured, Postman, etc.)

  • Experience with automated test methodology and skills (Jira, GIT, Stress Test Tools, Pytest, Selenium Webdriver, Cucumber).

  • Experience with browser testing tools (i.e. Browserstack).

  • Working experience with Python or Java

  • Working knowledge of Linux commands and file system structures

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with these technologies are a plus: Python, XML, UNIX, Java

  • Experience with aviation projects is a plus

  • Object-Oriented Programming familiarity
