The Technical Pre-Sales Support Specialist (Solution Designer ) will have responsibility for customers across North America, and as such a significant amount of travel (50%) will be required. Position can be based remotely from anywhere in the United States.

The Solution Designer supports sales productivity by providing technical input throughout the sales cycle. The position works closely with both the sales directors and account management team, and prospective & existing customers to ensure that all proposed solutions are technically sound and meet the customer requirements as fully as possible.Internally, the role involves close collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, including product development, systems deployment, project management, product management and the sales and account management teams. Externally, the role requires engaging with both existing and potential customers at both a ‘hands-on’ technical and operational level and a senior management level. This engagement consists of both discussions/workshops and formal presentations; as such the successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills and good presentation skills. The role will be responsible for achieving a profit and productivity quota together with the Sales team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Answer customer requirements documents together with the Sales manager.

• Participate in conferences, shows, exhibitions when appropriate and requested.

• Participate in the qualification of opportunities.

• Proactively scope the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assess customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommends optimum solutions, ensuring appropriate support for the proposed architecture.

• Follow and share market technological needs and evolution with Sales team.

• Development and delivery of product demonstrations to customers in North America.

• Representation of the product to customers for sales calls and meetings and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.

• Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.

• Able to convey & prioritize customer requirements to Product Management Teams (GPM) and/or other technical teams.

• Build product specifications from existing ideas and develop new ones.

• Train the Sales Staff on the product.

• Ensure proper product support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in customer-facing activities in a business to business environment

  • Technical solutions expertise in a comparable pre-sales/project manager role.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field

  • Experience and familiarity of Airport Systems products and technologies (CUPPS, CUSS, AODB, RMS, FIDS, BRS, SBD, etc).

  • Very good understanding of complex Information Technology systems. Experience working in the Air Transportation Industry.

  • Knowledge in PC Office tools, Microsoft environment knowledge.

  • Six (6) or more years engineering, solutions engineering or technical sales experience.

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years relevant experience in vendor-support sales.

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in software sales and knowledge of technology.

  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.

  • Possesses strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports.

  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

  • Ability to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

  • Ability to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
