Raytheon Technologies Apex SMC IPT Lead in Aurora, Colorado

Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is looking for an SMC IPT Lead on the APEX program in Aurora, Colorado. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

On the Apex program, software engineers and architects are developing ground-based mission planning and command & control software to accommodate the next-generation of satellite capabilities as well as implementing new ground terminals. Our complex domain requires innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs. On Apex, you will work with teams of talented engineers to develop and improve advanced ground station software systems.

What You'll Get to Do:

The SMC IPT Lead is an essential leader who is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of a cross-disciplinary team of systems, software, and test engineers. The SMC IPT Lead ensures successful planning and execution of IPT products for each delivery working directly with program leadership as well as the systems and software teams , other integrated product team leads, and external stakeholders.

As SMC IPT Lead, you will be responsible for activities that are critical to the success of the program.

  • Cost, schedule, and technical execution

  • Earned value management and status reporting

  • Technical and programmatic direction

  • Schedule definition and management

  • Risk and opportunity management

  • IPT level systems engineering

  • Staff planning

  • Agile and DevOps process definition and execution

    You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 10 years demonstrated experience leading engineering teams with a proven track record

  • Ability to perform cost, schedule and technical management on a government software program

  • Experience with satellite command and control principles

  • Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycles

  • Experience in systems engineering functions such as TPMs, operations concept development, requirements management, interface definition and control, and technical risk management

  • Capable of becoming Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certified within 6 months of starting

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other relevant technical discipline

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a current / active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance

    It Would Be Great if You Also Had One or More of the Following

  • Experience with program processes and activities such as program startup, Integrated Master Schedules with budget allocation, WBSs, Earned Value, EACs, LREs, variance analyses, Scrum/Agile development, and software development planning

  • Experience with onboarding new work, proposals, and BOE development

  • Experience with satellite data processing and operations

  • Experience leading major milestone reviews

  • Experience leading across geographical sites, subcontractors and associate contractor companies

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other relevant technical discipline

    “In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $106,000 to $223,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.”
