This Cyber Engineer supports a dynamic and multidiscipline team on one of our Government Programs. Responsibilities span the operational cyber mission systems development and implementation. The Cyber Engineer collaborates with other team members to define and analyze different architectural and implementation approaches to fully integrate cyber operations within the mission software and infrastructure. This individual functions both as a Subject Matter Expert offering guidance to other team members and as an individual contributor. The ideal candidate has a strong cyber background with in-depth experience and familiarity with full spectrum cyber operations from planning to mission execution and should be knowledgeable about attack strategies from a cyber-perspective and defensive counter operations. This candidate experience includes varying network and computer platforms. This engineer is involved throughout the full-lifecycle of the development program including CONOPs development, requirements development, architecture, design, integration, test, certification, and continuous monitoring. The ideal candidate for this position has the ability to make and defend risk-based decisions and is innovative when finding ways to do things differently.

Specialized skills required for this role:

  • Controls and Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Ability to coordinate with Security Control Assessor / Accreditation Authority

  • Experience and knowledge in onboarding, tuning and implementing enterprise security solutions including Tenable/Nessus SecurityCenter, and the DoD’s HBSS solution/McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator ePO, SecureVue

    Required Skills:

  • Minimum 8+ years of related work experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with NIST 800-53 Security

  • Experience with Patching Operating Systems and applications.

Ability to develop and drive completion of security task within integrated master schedule

  • Experience with Continuous Monitoring and security artifacts such as: CTP, SSP, Security CONOPS, GUG/PUG, POA&M, SCTM, etc

  • Experience securing Network and virtual Architectures

  • Experience with DISA STIGs (Operating Systems, Applications, and Network)

  • Windows Operating System, Linux, or TCP/IP network troubleshooting abilities

  • Ability to provide technical oversight of the System Security Working Group to ensure acceptable Security Risk

  • Knowledge and ability to perform Media Custodian and/or Data Transfer Agent functions

  • Experience analyzing audit log data and determine compliance with published standards

  • Industry Certification: DoD 8570 Certification at IAT II or equivalent

  • US Citizen with current TS/SCI security clearance

    Desired Skills:

  • Experience with modeling and simulating attacks and analyzing impacts on mission effectiveness

  • Familiarity with DODAF architecture concepts

  • Analysis of IT systems to identify, assess, and design security features

  • Experience with two-factor authentication, network surveillance technology, intrusion detection, endpoint protection, data leakage protection, and encryption solutions and systems

  • Project skills including cost, schedule, supplier management, risk, and opportunity assessment

Ability to provide Technical Review of New Pursuits & Proposals

  • Knowledge of all aspects of the cyber exploitation and attack process, to include aspects of vulnerability research techniques and operationalization

    Education Requirements:

B.S./M.S./PhD in a STEM degree. Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math or other STEM degree.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $98,700 to $178,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
