Job Description:

Raytheon Technologies is looking for a Principle Electrical/RF Engineer that will provide Lead Installation and Test support for a mission critical system. The Principle Electrical/RF engineer will prepare and support RF designs to meet customer technical requirements as well as help to establish program RF/EE Link Budget analysis and related design elements. Efforts would include Design, development and Test of these deliverable systems both in our Factory development environments as well as at customer sites for final sell off of the end product to the customer. This role will focus on two key areas of expertise:

RF Installation lead

  • Participate and lead the RF ground terminal hardware installation at a customer facility.

  • Brief customers on installation status

  • Create, maintain, and utilize a detailed installation schedule

  • Prepare and present hardware specifications and design analysis in customer and program reviews

  • Must have strong leadership skills to lead a crew of 5 to 6 people

  • Travel (10%) required to support system installation and other related program activities at customer sites

    RF Test Lead

  • Participate and lead RF hardware testing.

  • Participate in creating the test plan and procedures

  • Document and brief test results to program management and customers

  • Must have experience with formal requirement selloff procedures

    Clearance: US Citizenship and a current active TS/SCI Security Clearance required.

    Required Skills:

  • 8+ years demonstrated engineering experience with proven track record

  • Understanding of the HW lifecycle and change management process

  • Experience installing and integrating RF hardware

  • RF hardware trouble-shooting skills

  • Experience performing regression test activities and Discrepancy Report (DR) verification

  • Experience with formal requirement verification activities including test procedure development and execution of factory and site acceptance testing

  • Ground satellite development or operations experience

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong technical skills

  • Ability to problem-solve complex situations

  • Experience working in a multi-discipline environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools

  • Current TS/SCI clearance

    Desired Skills:

  • Experience with performing trade studies; recommending solutions; and, identifying potential vendors

  • Ability to understand architectures based on requirements including interface definition, parts selection with consideration given to environmental variables, safety, site constraints and lessons learned

  • Experience with requirements management throughout the product development lifecycle to minimize program schedule and cost impacts

  • Experience in hardware production environment and the participation in hardware design and development activities.

  • Experience with multiple ground domains (command and telemetry, flight dynamics, mission planning)

  • EVMS certified


Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of related work experience with emphasis in Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Math.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $98,700 to $187,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
