This position will support The Raytheon Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) program. The FORGE program is to develop an open framework for processing overhead data from Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) missile warning satellite constellation, next-generation persistent infrared (Next Gen OPIR) satellites, and other data from civil and environmental sensors.

What You'll Get to Do:

As a Principal Software Engineer/Architect, you will support software development activities by participating in all aspects of the software engineering lifecycle, to include: design of software components, developing code, updating technical documents, generating and executing test procedures, integration of software components, peer review of software artifacts, troubleshooting and resolution of discrepancy reports.

You will also get to do:

  • Apply software subject matter expertise to execute the software development lifecycle and achieve FORGE program development priorities

  • Provide Software Engineering support to plan, develop, and design software solutions for the FORGE Program in accordance with applicable Engineering standards

  • Conduct Software Development as part of the agile-based FORGE Program

  • Prepare/update briefings and reports as required

  • Work effectively and independently with minimal supervision, and be able to proactively engage with and advise government and contractor support

    You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other relevant technical discipline.

  • A minimum of 8 years of work experience directly related to software development engineering in Java

  • Experience designing MicroServices

  • Experience working within Unix/Linux environment

  • Ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines

  • Must understand concepts of secure coding, have familiarity with static code analysis tools

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment and strong written and oral communication skills

    It Would Be Great if You Also Had:

  • Have familiarity with security functionality (user auth, access control, PKI, audit logging, etc.

  • Experience Designing and Architecting around Kubernetes and Kafka

  • Experience programming in Python, JavaScript

  • Experience with Docker, and/or Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Experience working within a team environment using Agile/DevSecOps methods and tools, to include Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GIT, Maven, Bitbucket

  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying applications with a focus on high availability, low latency and scalability

  • Experience implementing cybersecurity hardened solutions

  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing

  • Familiarity with geospatial processing, satellite data processing, and/or weather data processing

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $124,000 to $179,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, work experience, education/training, internal equity, alignment with market data.

This position requires a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Security clearance.
