RIS is seeking a Systems Engineer for the ALPHA program to accomplish segment engineering tasks in an iterative development environment.
The SE provides technical analysis, support and clarification of requirements to the agile software development teams.
The SE will perform engineering analysis including trade studies, use case development, requirement definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification while supporting planning and development.
Interfacing with personnel from other organizations, the SE attends technical interchange meetings with the team members and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of their project.
The SE will provide status on assigned tasks, review program documentation and resolve technical systems engineering and integration issues as well as mange time and resources in order to meet program deadlines.
8+ years demonstrated engineering leadership experience with proven track record.
Understand the SE lifecycle and change management process
Must have experience with agile product development teams. Previous scrum master or product owner experience is a plus.
Experience with OMS Service Contracts development and management
Must have knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology
Experience with maintaining a SE VM environment and understanding of SW development and minimal coding proficiency.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
Self-starter with ability to troubleshoot and work though challenging tasks.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
Active Top Secret Clearance
U. S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract
Experience in SE process development and deployment
Experience with complex satellite ground systems, previous deployment of developed systems to ground station operations.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, or related STEM discipline and 8+ years prior relevant experience
