Raytheon Technologies Senior Subcontract Specialist in Aurora, Colorado

Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) is seeking a Senior Subcontract Specialist for their Civil Space & Weather (CSW) business unit. We are looking for candidates in the Colorado, Maryland and Virginia/ Washington D.C. area that can work within a remote or hybrid work environment. Raytheon’s hybrid work environment consists of a mix collaborative/focused onsite program activity, as well as, working remotely from home with possible ocassional travel to Raytheon sites listed above.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating, executing and managing various subcontract types (Cost Type, Incentive Type, Firm Fixed, Time & Material, etc.), applying strategic source selection techniques and creating compliant subcontract/procurement documentation records. The role will require the candidate to perform cost and price analysis, develop negotiation strategies and lead supplier negotiations. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience executing to customer requirements including government regulations, public law and Raytheon policies and procedures. The role requires the candidate to participate in gate reviews and capture / proposal efforts. This position will also be responsible for ensuring supply chain competitiveness and performance throughout the lifecycle of the program (front end of business through capture, proposal, implementation and contract closure.) As the Supply Chain Lead on the program, you will be responsible for creating and executing the supply chain plan (material and subcontracts) for all programs within your portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of supply chain disciplines including, but not limited to: commodity management, strategic sourcing, procurement, production control and logistics. The role requires the candidate to work in a matrixed environment and to be collaboratively partnered with Business Development, Contracts, Program Management, Engineering and Finance to ensure success.

The ideal candidate will also have experience with managing a variety subcontract types and ensure that we are meeting the small business goals for the programs you support. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success partnering with key subcontractors (large and small) to bring the right talent and services/solutions to the Customer on schedule and within budget.


•4-6+ years of applicable experience

•Must be a US Citizen

•Basic knowledge of the FAR, DFAR, ITAR, public law and Terms and Conditions of purchase

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Proposal experience

•Experience with a variety of contract types

•Experience with a variety of agreements: Strategic Sourcing, Teaming, Bidding, PIAs/NDAs

•Previous experience as a Procurement Specialist or Subcontract Administrator

•Self-Starter and ability to work remotely and travel to site when required

•Able to work independently with little supervision


•Experience in a government contracting environment with DoD and non-DoD customers

•Experience with managing large dollar subcontracts

•Experience managing projects with Agile/DevOps technical component

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related business degree

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $64,100.00 to $115,400.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
