Raytheon Technologies Senior Systems Administrator in Aurora, Colorado
Raytheon Intelligence and Space is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator based out of Aurora, CO to perform system administration and network engineering support for large scale systems & networks in a 24x7 operating environment.
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Provide Tier 2 and 3 support to Linux & Windows systems on TCP/IP based networks.
Troubleshoot large IT systems with hardware and software components and implement cyber security configurations.
Perform cyber security, vulnerability scanning and remediation activities.
Support and maintain various system databases and upgrade/modify system hardware & software configurations.
Provide IT support to new system developments and perform operating system & hardware upgrades.
Network engineering installation, configuration & maintenance.
Provide Database administration support and troubleshooting for various database systems (ORACLE, MySQL).
Work with system engineers to coordinate, evaluate, test and install computer security patches and configurations.
Perform system backups and maintain system reconstitution capabilities and procedures.
Develop and implement scripts to improve and/or automate system performance and maintainability.
Maintain system & configuration documentation, user guides and troubleshooting procedures.
An active and in-scope U.S. TS/SCI security clearance with C.I. polygraph.
Typically the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Military experience may substitute for some requirements. Military technical certification credit for military experience (*military personnel who have been formally trained or have relevant experience obtained while in service versus civilian training).
Advanced System Administration experience with various versions of RHEL Linux and Windows
Network engineering skills to include installation, configuration and maintenance of switches and firewall and familiarity with Network Performance Monitoring (NPM) tools
Strong troubleshooting skills and the discipline to work independently or unsupervised when necessary.
The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, is team player and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have a current DODI 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification or the ability to obtain within the first 60 days of employment.
Knowledge in any/all of the following scripting languages: Bourne, Perl, Korn, Bash, Awk
Knowledge of DevOps principles to include Confluence and JIRA
Knowledge of ORACLE and/or MySQL Database technologies
Experience with computer security related technologies and applications (PKI certificates, SSH, NESSUS, auditd, etc.)
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $70,000 to $150,000; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
