Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) is seeking a program-accessed, experienced professional Mission Assurance Leader (MAL) for our primary work location in Aurora, CO.
The selected professional will partner with proposal and program stakeholders as the voice of the customer to autonomously assure mission success. The MAL will collaborate with the Program Manager and other senior staff, working as a trusted partner with the Program Office and other Functions. The MAL will engage on both tactical and strategic level, collaborating with peers across the organizations ensuring implementation effectiveness and encouraging efficiency improvements across the program.
On programs, the MAL will lead the Mission Assurance and Quality team to ensure delivered products and services meet Customer and Raytheon requirements, regularly participate in program risk and opportunity process, champion and groom risks and opportunities, identify and document gaps in expectations between extended customer base (Operators, Sustainment, Acquisition, etc.) and the program implementation baseline (contract, SOW, etc.), provide technical direction in resolution of high-visibility program issues, autonomously assess system and mission readiness, as well as foster meaningful Customer relationships and expectation alignment.
The MAL will also support Mission Assurance engagements at key points in pursuits and programs, including representing MA in pursuit gates, preparing MA plans and bids for Proposals, and representing MA at program execution gates and self-guided reviews.
The selected person will perform the following with minimal supervision:
Proactively identify and effectively guide programs’ mission assurance needs, including identifying and participating in risk and opportunity management
Identify on-contract growth opportunities to meet customer’s future mission needs
Proactively communicate with program management on performance risks, while effectively managing communications, Supplier, and Customer interfaces
Hold program team(s) accountable to ensure critical mission needs are planned, implemented, tested, and ready for operations
Identify and guide autonomous assessment of system development, e.g. requirements, architecture, system test approach
Identify need for Failure Investigation Teams (FIT) / Failure Review Boards (FRB) and Lead/Participate FIT/FRB in coordination with Engineering
Lead and facilitate MA activities including support of Program Management Reviews (PMR), Working Group/User Review events, and technical meetings
Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities utilizing six sigma, lean practices and other analytical improvement methods and resources
Define Program-specific Mission Assurance requirements and work collaboratively with program Process Owners to implement effective plans ensuring compliant delivery of high-quality
products and services
Establish MA resource requirements, secure budgets, manage program Mission Assurance tasks to meet budgets, while continually encouraging innovative solutions and Quality effectiveness
Ensure the program conforms to approved program processes and complies with contractual requirements
The position will include Mission Assurance Lead on a complex development program
Travel may be required (10%).
U.S. Citizenship required as the candidate must have an Active U.S. DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance day one of employment.

Minimum 12 years’ experience in Engineering to include Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or Test Engineering
Thorough working experience within Mission Assurance and Program Management
Skilled in confidently, autonomously holding program team(s) accountable for process, product, and mission integrity
Experience in effectively interfacing with internal and external customers
Ability to interface effectively with suppliers
Thorough written/verbal presentation skills
Experience as team lead on a development or sustainment program
Experience in coaching others in difficult situations
Experience collaborating with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems
Experience in risk and opportunity management
Experience in predictive and proactive measures and metrics assessments and leading actions to improve performance or mitigate problems
Experience with large or complex software development projects
Experience in the Space-Ground domain with mission systems
Experience as technical reviewer in Independent review/assessment teams
Experience with Agile and Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) methodologies
Ability to participate in Failure Investigation Teams
Skilled in leading or validating Root Cause Analysis
Experience with estimating and new business proposals
Experience with Industry and Government compliance requirements and standards
Knowledge in AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards
Working knowledge of Mission Assurance, with ability to lead, plan, and perform Mission Assurance responsibilities upon start of working this position
Working knowledge of System Engineering, Integration, Test, Transition, and Operations/Sustainment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Mission Assurance leadership on a software development program
Systems Engineering experience
System Test experience
Mission Readiness campaigns
Experience with Raytheon gating or program phasing (nonrecurring/recurring activities)
Experience in Earned Value Management and Cost Account Management
Raytheon Six Sigma or Industry Six Sigma Certification
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer or Manager
Application and adherence to Quality Management Systems IS0 9001 or AS9100
Working knowledge of Raytheon RCAS or a proven closed-loop corrective action system
Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
Bachelor of Art Degrees in an appropriate field of science (Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics)
Bachelor of Art Degree in Mathematics
