An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Weapons Engineer with a guided weapons engineering background to join our Guided Weapons team. In this role you will be responsible for providing weapons subject matter expert advice and support to business growth and development. The role also involves advising and assisting in engagements with the customer in support of foreign military sales and direct commercial sales opportunities as well as advising on supply chain, test and evaluation, and certification of components, sub-systems, assemblies, and all-up rounds.
Key spokesperson on guided weapons technical capabilities and future directions.
Assist as directed in the design, analysis, implementation, test and lifecycle support of nominated guided weapons, modules, subsystems, and configuration items.
Ensure assigned guided weapons / sub-systems are developed, implemented, and supported according to company standards and procedures.
Plan, schedule, and monitor all weapons-related engineering tasks to support the overall company strategy.
Participate in major reviews throughout the lifecycle as well as participating in peer reviews.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering (with a significant component of Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering).
Postgraduate degree in Weapons Systems Engineering desirable.
Advanced knowledge of the design, manufacture, support and employment of weapons, especially guided weapons.
Experience developing recommendations and implementing new products, processes, policies, standards, or operating plans in support of the Functional strategy.
Previous experience improving existing processes and systems using significant conceptualising, reasoning, and interpretation in consideration of industry best practice.
