Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs electrical design, development, analysis, and test of electrical systems and circuits within Lighting Oxygen Passenger Service Unit Interiors including:

  • Develop or modify circuit Designs for Aircraft Lighting, Oxygen, and Passenger Service applications.

  • Develop or modify circuit layouts and routing guidelines

  • Analyze circuits, signal integrity, and timing

  • Create design verification plan and procedures

  • Assess components for obsolescence

  • Complete electrical design standard work activities

  • Support troubleshooting of development, production, and aftermarket unit testing

  • Continuously find opportunities to improve processes and reduce cost

  • Develops operational, maintenance, and testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of engineering processes.

  • Develops test procedures and reports to support product qualification to applicable aircraft standards.

  • Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently.

  • Designs, fabricates, modifies, and evaluates electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in other equipment and devices supporting the production of product.

  • Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components.

  • Design products which incorporate AC-DC and/or DC-DC power generation/regulation, data transmission and distribution, CMOS, FPGA, ASIC, or similar software integrated control systems, illumination, System level wiring layout and servomechanisms.

  • Includes circuit theory, system logic design and development, instrumentation, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, LED's, and display techniques with emphasis in designing to support product produced primarily for commercial and/or military aircraft applications.

  • Possibility to travel to locations both within and outside of the US.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and 1 years of relevant experience

  • Good communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).

  • Candidate must be a U.S Citizen.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in the aerospace industry

  • Bachelor's degree/ Advanced degree in electrical engineering or related

  • Knowledge in Power Electronics/Power distribution from 115VAC/400 Hz, 270VDC, or 28VDC

  • Experience with analog and digital interfaces, electronic analysis techniques and laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzes, and other related test equipment.

  • Familiarization or expertise with common electrical components

  • Experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461 a plus

  • Experience with Hardware/Software integration and troubleshooting

  • Ability to troubleshoot potential causes of production failures and devise a solution to prevent repeat issues in the future

  • Ability to complete a root cause analysis (e.g. fault tree, 5 Why, fishbone)

  • Familiarity with manufacturing and quality assurance techniques

  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit Design PCD tools such as Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, etc.

  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as Catia, NX, Solidworks etc.
