Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an EMI Test Engineer to fulfill an Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI/EMC) engineering role . This position will be part of our Analysis and Test group here at Collins in Burnsville, MN. The Analysis and Test group is comprised of several analysts, subject matter experts, test engineers, and test technicians that support the environmental test lab, EMI/EMC lab, wind tunnel testing labs, and engineering labs; all of which are located within Burnsville. These labs support research and development and the qualification of all parts manufactured within the five value streams in Burnsville.
Develops and integrates software tools and real-time software applications for test equipment
Provides support for design of test hardware including fixtures and cabling
Provides support to internal customers in the EMI/EMC test facilities
Generates, review and maintain software documentation and change requests
Troubleshoot customer failures in emission, RF susceptibility, Transient testing, and power quality
Train customers on safe usage of equipment
Manage 5S, EH&S, and TPM
Safely perform High voltage transient testing, and High Power RF testing
- Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
Bachelor’s degree/Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Deep working knowledge with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, etc.
Experience in National Instruments LABVIEW
Experience in Hardware/Software integration and troubleshooting
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus
Previous experience working in the aerospace industry is preferred
