Position Overview

The Engineering Intern will work in the Engine’s design team developing highly reliable products which meet customer specified requirements/expectations at the lowest competitive cost. The engineering intern will be a highly motivated self-starter who will be capable of supporting/leading projects including product development, testing, report generation, and schedule management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support bids and proposals for new engine sensors

  • Support manufacture and fabrication for new engine sensors

  • Participate in trade studies and material selections

  • Support design of sensors utilizing PTC Creo CAD system and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management Software

  • Work with the Global Engineering Center in India on technical design tasks

  • Support reviewing requirements and evaluate new product design and functionality in support of meeting customer requirements and successful certification efforts

  • Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit/function

  • Facilitates necessary customer requirement testing to ensure product safety

  • Support interactions with Business Development and Program Management to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Interface with all other functional groups and departments as required in the development of the product design

  • Assists Engineering Management to coordinate the timely delivery of product design and customer proposal requests

  • Support preparation of preliminary and final detail design and documentation of systems, components, and assemblies

  • May occasionally design test fixtures and tooling

  • Adheres to all Collins Aerospace rules and codes of conduct

  • Performs other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
