The Engineering Intern will work in the Engine’s design team developing highly reliable products which meet customer specified requirements/expectations at the lowest competitive cost. The engineering intern will be a highly motivated self-starter who will be capable of supporting/leading projects including product development, testing, report generation, and schedule management.
Support bids and proposals for new engine sensors
Support manufacture and fabrication for new engine sensors
Participate in trade studies and material selections
Support design of sensors utilizing PTC Creo CAD system and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management Software
Work with the Global Engineering Center in India on technical design tasks
Support reviewing requirements and evaluate new product design and functionality in support of meeting customer requirements and successful certification efforts
Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit/function
Facilitates necessary customer requirement testing to ensure product safety
Support interactions with Business Development and Program Management to ensure customer satisfaction
Interface with all other functional groups and departments as required in the development of the product design
Assists Engineering Management to coordinate the timely delivery of product design and customer proposal requests
Support preparation of preliminary and final detail design and documentation of systems, components, and assemblies
May occasionally design test fixtures and tooling
Adheres to all Collins Aerospace rules and codes of conduct
Performs other duties as required
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
