The Engineering Project Lead will lead cross-functional teams responsible for developing aircraft Engine Sensor products.
The Engineering Project Lead's activities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
-Leading a cross-functional engineering team in the development and certification of aerospace products. The involved engineering functions are electrical and mechanical disciplines.
-Engineering focal for customer engagements which include, but are not limited to, periodic status telecons, design reviews, and program status reviews.
-Establishing (Bid and proposal), maintaining, and driving execution to plan for the development and certification of aerospace products. Schedules are maintained in Microsoft Project Server and employ earned value management methodology.
-Adhering to project cost goals by employing active scope and risk management through coordination with Program Office.
-Capturing and reporting project status to Engineering Management and Program Office in support of monthly project and program reviews.
-Interfacing with the SIS India engineering organization in support of product development activities.
Leading the IPT through all development phases resulting in a successful customer certification and deployment. Engagement typically begins during the proposal phase (Bid & Proposal) and ends with successful customer entry-into- service. The cross- functional IPT typically includes representatives from Engineering, Program Office, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality. Depending on project scope, the Engineering disciplines involved may include electrical, mechanical, test and aerospace. The IPT may also include team members from the SIS-India Design Center.
Effectively communicating project status to all stakeholders, including Senior and Executive Leadership, through periodic project reviews, program reviews, or other channels.
Building and maintaining positive customer relationships throughout the development lifecycle and representing the IPT to customers via periodic status calls, technical design reviews, program status reviews, or other means.
Effectively establishing, maintaining, and driving execution to the project plan throughout the development lifecycle. This includes ensuring clear definition, communication, and management of all program requirements including technical, cost, and schedule requirements. Driving execution in accordance with all internal and external customer schedule and cost targets, including both recurring and non-recurring cost targets.
Ensuring execution in compliance with all applicable business policies and processes.
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR
In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
10+ years of Design
8+ years of Engineering project leadership experience
2+ years of Project Leadership).
