Our Sensors and Integrated Systems is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion for Analog design and supporting Engine Sensor products. The candidate will be expected to support both new product design and continuation support for existing products. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also be responsible for the design, development, test, qualification, and certification of new product designs. This role will include regularly troubleshooting complex problems, developing solutions, and communicating outcomes while working with other disciplines within the organization to support the continuation support for existing products. Candidate would ideally be familiar with aerospace design processes, and procedures such as DO-160 and DO-254.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting design related problems for both in service and development products

  • Creation of design concepts and requirements for new programs

  • History of continuous improvement and relentless root cause methodology

  • Produces products according to specifications, using the most cost effective and efficient means

  • Participates in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications

  • Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components

  • Completes drawing designs as required to create and manage the engineering change request and change order process

  • Interfaces with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products

  • Troubleshoots electrical devices to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently

  • Resolves technical problems on the production floor to improve yield, scrap and performance metrics

  • Understands circuit theory, analog and instrumentation, low power signals, and transducers

  • Requirements management including requirements generation, design and development, integration, verification, validation, and documentation for existing and new products

  • Develops and demonstrates a deep technical understanding of product families

  • Provides technical leadership of complex designs to customers, electrical engineering community and Engines Value Stream

  • Interfaces with internal cross-functional and cross-site team members

  • Provides estimations for new hardware pursuits and rework activities

  • Develops and executes electrical engineering standard practices

  • Proficiency with Allegro and Cadence tools to design Schematics, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Circuit Cards Assemblies (CCAs) and associated drawings

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • Experienced in circuit theory, analog and digital design, instrumentation, semiconductor devices, power supply design (low & high power) and solid-state devices

  • Experience designing Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)

  • Experience reviewing and/or writing product specifications and determining design requirements and scope of work

  • Experience of requirements management and design verification process

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design and test experience with RTCA DO-160 & MIL-STD-461

  • Experience in analog design, electromagnetic interference (EMI), lightning protection, power supply design, digital communications, qualification testing, high power electronics and PCB layout

  • Proficiency with Allegro and Cadence tools to design Schematics, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Circuit Cards Assemblies (CCAs) and associated drawings
