Collins Aerospace is seeking a motivated, Accounting professional to join the Burnsville, MN site team.
Manages and maintains the organization’s financial records and transactions related to general accounting, general ledger, projects, and/or government accounting, by following procedures, guidelines, accounting policies, and control processes, ensuring accuracy of accounts.
Compiles and maintains accounting statements, reports, general ledger accounts, cost revenue reports and/or balance sheets in order to ensure smooth functioning of the processes.
Prepares month end journal entries and account reconciliations based on financial data.
Analyze month end journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting for consistency, trends, improvement opportunities and ensure they provide value to the business and help drive business decisions.
Monitors account entries and control activities to ensure accuracy of information.
Assists on projects, controls and compliance and internal and external audits to ensure quality results are obtained.
Compiles financial information to record transactions, prepares reports, and completes reviews to report accurate information.
Complete forecast activities and provide variance analysis.
Compares budget to actual costs and provides advice to ensure budgets are adhered to.
Prepares basic financial analysis to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Manages the planning and direction of accounting activities, including the maintenance of the ledger accounts and financial statements.
Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions, including coordination and administration of assignments.
Conducts or assists in the documentation of cost, government, and project accounting in addition to attending to financial reporting.
Manages and investigates tax, consolidation, and close data.
Investigates and manages intercompany and fixed asset accounting.
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years accounting experience
3+ years of experience working within a complex, matrixed organization
ERP experience such as SAP, Hyperion
Proficient use and experience with MS Excel
Strong analytical skills
