Collins Aerospace is looking for a talented, energetic, and self-driven individual to join the IMS team and serve as an Aftermarket Value Stream Leader (VSL) within the Enablement Products team, leading customer-facing project execution for the Smart Routing Solutions (SRS) portfolio. The successful candidate will support the business unit leader and lead multiple integrated project teams (IPTs) to plan, execute, and transition customer programs in support of the broader Collins Connected Ecosystem initiative.

This role will help to develop business cases, support and lead internal gate reviews, ensure alignment and understanding of deliverables, coordinate communications, build solid business relationships with internal and external customers, manage overall project and risk plans including earned value, and track and report progress both internally and externally. We will expect the candidate to bring their own skills and expertise around technology deployment and customer relationship management to help shape, define, and accelerate our Connected Ecosystem vision. A large portion of this position also includes collaborating with employees from various portfolios and shared functional services for smooth customer project implementations that bring together capabilities and solutions from across the business.

The ideal candidate for this role has experience planning, developing, and delivering successful connected aircraft solutions, including aftermarket airworthiness certification via Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads various size programs to ensure adherence to appropriately scaled program plans, schedules and budgets for programs under his/her responsibility and recommends appropriate adjustments in alignment with the Collins Management System (CMS).

  • Manages IPT and develops milestones, program plans, schedules and budgets for programs.

  • Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports.

  • Supports strategic and financial planning efforts for the business.

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, efficiency and quality.

  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and leads implementation of solutions, such as allocation of resources and changing contractual specifications.

  • Supports the development of new business growth strategies.

  • Coordinates responses to customer action items.

  • Supervises the appropriate use of all resources allocated to the program to ensure efficiency and alignment with approved business case, via earned value management and tracking.

  • Participates in and leads the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests.

  • Directs all program phases from inception through completion.

  • Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.

  • Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.

  • Coordinates the negotiation, proposals, business plans, budgets and contracts for programs.

  • Establishes cost-focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience, OR

  • Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience, OR

  • In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience.  

  • Must have demonstrated ability to strategically organize and complete projects, tasks and business objectives within approved budget and resource constraints

  • Enthusiasm for working with globally dispersed IPT and customer base

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • PMP certification

  • Previous Program Management role or equivalent experience

  • Experience with airworthiness certification processes (STC)

  • Ability to motivate and drive execution of IPT in matrix environment

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and written at all levels, both internally and externally

  • Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and teaming attitude

  • Passion for continuous improvement and customer focus

  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable using software for IPT collaboration, including Microsoft applications (Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, Word, etc.), Zoom, etc.
