The Business Applications group is looking to hire a graduate level intern to assist with enhancements to our web applications with MySQL or Oracle back-end. We also use JavaScript, HTML, Python, Ruby on Rails, and Web Services technology.
Our systems reside mostly in UNIX and Linux but we do a lot of our development on Windows. Our users largely use Windows, Macs and browsers like Edge, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
This position has an immediate need and would continue through summer 2021. The hours would be flexible and negotiable during the school year with the expectation that they would increase and become more regular during the summer.
Qualifications:
Student pursuing a degree in BS in Computer Science, MIS coursework or other technical degree
Experience with Oracle and MySQL Databases is required
Good knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic, Excel Macros is required
JavaScript, HTML, Ruby on Rails, Python experience is desirable
Knowledge of Java Language and Java Technology is desirable
Understanding of PL/SQL, SQR and willingness to support legacy applications is desirable
Familiarity with UNIX and Windows environments is desirable
Familiarity with Atlassian’s collab/jira package is a plus
Interest for or experience with financial applications is a plus
Desire and ability to learn quickly
Good interpersonal skills
- Desire to give a hand with testing, documentation, data loads, and administrative tasks.
