The Corporate Controller is responsible for providing leadership, financial management and oversight of the company’s financial results and compliance that all financial reporting requirements are conducted in accordance with the relevant accounting standard, legislation, and company policies and procedures.
This role provides guidance and direction to the finance team across the company as well as provide training to staff in relevant accounting areas such as revenue recognition and, accounting for property, plant & equipment (incl. Corporate Appropriation Requests).
Manage all financial aspects of the company’s financial results and financial position and for monitoring financial performance of the key financial transactions.
Ensure monthly reconciliations of corporate general ledger accounts are complete and clearly present the substance of the balances.
Ensure supporting work papers enable efficient reviews by senior finance staff and auditors.
Lead the completion of month end requirements ensuring subsidiary ledgers (including program accounting ledger) are successfully integrated into the general ledger.
Lead the compliance of the company’s financial position through the application of applicable Accounting Standards and the management of key financial results and balances.
Oversee the preparation of the company’s statutory financial statements and financial information for lodgement to, and consolidation by, the parent company.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Requires a University Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience with a Professional qualification, e.g. CPA, CA, or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience required.
Experience managing a small to mid-sized team typically comprised of other managers and/or supervisors and experienced professionals with a focus on policy and strategy implementation.
Experience establishing operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the Function / Product Line.
Previous experience working in a role with a focus on short- to mid-term operational plans.
Previous experience being responsible for hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within a specific area, in accordance with management review and approval.
