We are seeking a Principal Contracts Specialist to join our team in Mission Systems. The primary responsibility of the Principal Contracts Specialist is to prepare proposals and to negotiate contracts for programs that are primarily hardware with a limited amount of non-recurring effort. Tasks are moderate to extremely complex and are performed with moderate to little or no supervision.

This position has authority that directly affects the relationship between the company and the customer. The Principal Contracts Specialist receives the request-for-quote from a customer and reviews it for all pertinent information. They prepare a quote, include the proper terms and conditions, and then submit the proposal to the customer for consideration. On the successful proposals the customer will then send in a purchase order to the Principal Specialist, Contracts who reviews it to ensure that all the necessary information is included and if required negotiate any terms and conditions with the customer. Upon completion and acceptance of negotiation, the purchase order is then submitted for order entry into SAP.

The Principal Specialist, Contacts works in close conjunction to accomplish all this with the Field Sales Force, Program Management, Contracts, Pricing, Finance, Master Scheduling and other Customer Account Administration personnel. This position requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
