Collins Aerospace is looking for a graphic designer that is ready to grow their skillset and take their career to the next level at one of the largest aerospace and defense companies in the world. The designer will work remotely on a creative team that connects and collaborates virtually.

The role requires a self-motivated creative thinker who is willing to learn our brand and help develop print and digital materials that set us apart. The position will be a critical execution role within our in-house design agency that includes designers, writers and communication experts.

The role requires an independent designer who is confident in conceptualizing and delivering compelling creative in a highly technical environment. Daily assignments move quickly: the right designer will be comfortable developing graphic elements for print and digital initiatives, including datasheets, brochures, digital/print advertising, evites and trade show graphics and much more.

We’re looking for candidates that excel in design and layout and are comfortable presenting their projects to various levels of leadership within the company. The right candidate will require little to no supervision and work independently to serve customers and meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage own design efforts while working with communication experts across multiple strategic business units and functional organizations

  • Serve as brand steward by adhering to and promoting rich content design across all projects

  • Present work directly to internal customers to “sell” concepts when needed

  • Work with Sr Designers/Creative Director, support development of visual storyboards to steer internal partners or external vendors on creative direction when needed

  • Conduct image searches and executes photo resizing and impact style photography conversion

  • Manage multiple projects across many mediums at one time to meet aggressive deadlines

  • Complete independent image searches to enhance digital asset management tool and understands rights managed content.

  • Responsible for maintaining individual project schedules utilizing project management software to maintain visibility of project status

  • Commitment to staying on top of creative trends and a willingness to participate in continual learning opportunities.

  • Exercise working within comprehensive brand standards

  • Address workload with a sense of urgency

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is Required

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in preparing and presenting materials to audiences, including executive leadership

  • Proven ability to communicate creative solutions with confidence, ease and clarity.

  • Solid understanding of how marketing campaigns work

  • Must be a US Person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Portfolio showcasing previous design work, preferably in different mediums required

  • Creative experience in aerospace and defense
