This position will be an integral part of the Collins Aerospace Financial Shared Services organization, specifically supporting the performance, monitoring and analysis of internal controls. This role will provide exposure to functions across Collins Aerospace in the United States and internationally, including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany accounting, financial reporting, internal and external audit, and more. The preferred candidate will have an analytical and inquisitive mindset, and a background in audit or internal controls.

The candidate selected will be part of a controls and project management team, and they will have an opportunity to grow, take on new challenges, and develop further within the role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the documentation and closure of control issue tickets, the preparation of internal control memos, and other key writing tasks.

  • Supports Accounting Controls Assessments (ACAs), internal controls testing, control gap assessments, risk assessments, and additional control processes for the Collins Aerospace Financial Shared Service organization.

  • Administers the Collins Aerospace Account Reconciliation Management System (ARMS) and provides controls oversight for account reconciliation performance across the shared service organization.

  • Administers the Collins Aerospace journal entry review control by analyzing and coordinating the review of journal entries across Collins Aerospace, including business unit and shared service support.

  • Researches technical accounting issues for compliance to ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Provides feedback and guidance to stakeholders across the shared service organization.

  • Assists with ad hoc projects in the Collins Financial Shared Service organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is Required

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Must be a US Person/ Permanent Resident 'Green Card' holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance

  • SAP and Blackline experience
