The business is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa but open to negotiations regarding remote working.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and team Business Development cross-functional efforts with Program Manager and Engineering teams to develop go-to-market strategies within the Weapons Data Links Solutions portfolio;

  • Lead strategy development/market analysis within the value stream triad to shape, define, pursue and capture new business in the data links market;

  • Be responsible for developing, forecasting, and capturing new/existing opportunities and maintaining relationships with new and existing military service customers, primes and OEMs;

  • Develop, present and articulate compelling business growth opportunities that include market and competitive analysis, and price to win strategies via decision point reviews;

  • Continually explore the environment for business and strategic growth opportunities;

  • Prepare and support company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analyses, as well as Strategic Financial Plans and Annual Operations Planning;

  • Bring experience and professional networks with senior internal and external leadership in area of expertise;

  • Represents the Data Links Solutions team as the subject matter expert (SME) on weapons data links, associated products, and specific operational needs associated with multi-domain, joint and coalition networked operations in support of the Defense Department warfighting initiatives;

  • Interacts with senior internal and customer leadership on matters often requiring coordination between organizations;

  • Comfortable working on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors;

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, where erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would have a serious impact on the organization;

  • Function with minimal supervision on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments;

  • Willing to travel 50%.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Maintains or is eligible for US DoD Top Secret security clearance.

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a combination of military, government and/or Defense

  • Industry positions related to weapons development acquisition or deep operational experience.

  • Strong, demonstrated background in military weapons or data links networks, capabilities, technologies and CONOPs.

  • Professional verbal and writing, presentation skills mandatory.

  • Passion to lead and grow the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US Department of Defense (DoD) and military services warfighting CONOPS specific to weapons development. Deep understanding of collaborative/networked weapons and attritable or unmanned synergies; and experience in the developing and fielding of technologies relevant to the Services’ JADC2 efforts as related to weapons, network kill-chains, attractable and manned-unmanned teaming.

  • Experience and leadership in DoD/service Weapon Program Office, ACC, OPNAV, USA Staff, FLEET/TYCOM/MAJCOM/CECOM/PEO highly desired.

  • Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the US DoD program requirements, Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) processes, or be comfortable interacting with DoD subject matter experts in all areas of the acquisition process.
