Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Systems
The Strategic Platform Hardware Team is seeking to fill an Sr. Electrical Engineering position with a motivated, talented individual who is excited about developing and supporting electrical hardware solutions for avionics products including integrated processing cabinets, video processing modules, and control panels for use in military aircraft application.
Primary responsibilities for the selected candidate will include support for existing and design of new analog and/or digital circuit cards throughout a products entire lifecycle including: initial design, integration, qualification testing, transition to production, and manufacturing support. Circuit card designs may include the use of CPU, GPU, FPGA, and memory components and implement multiple interfaces including Ethernet, I2C, USB, and DVI. The individual should excel at working in a cross functional team environment where effective communication skills are needed.
Ability read and interpret and troubleshoot existing electrical schematics
Familiarity with circuit card schematic design process using applications like Mentor Graphics DX Designer
Capable of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment
Experience with digital electronics design principles
Experience with circuit board design process including PWB layout
Support lab qualification testing for circuit card and/or assemblies
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Working knowledge of digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay). Includes knowledge of computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and characteristics (e.g., throughput, processing architecture, timing, capacity).
Have demonstrated effective problem solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment
