Role Overview:

The Specialist, Cybersecurity Analyst Position is responsible for helping to safeguard the company's assets, intellectual property, and computer systems in support of the company's business objectives. The applicant will be responsible for configuring and maintaining the vulnerability management platform(s), monitoring the resulting scan data, prioritizing and communicating necessary/required remediations, and escalating as necessary. The Cybersecurity Analyst works among a team of skilled analysts to address complex or difficult problems as needed within a Cybersecurity Fusion Center environment

This individual can work at any Collins location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate enterprise vulnerability assessment and configuration assessment tools (e.g. scanners).

  • Record vulnerabilities in a vulnerability tracking and reporting system.

  • Validate vulnerability findings for false positives and negatives, and document findings.

  • Identify the appropriate responsible owner for each system affected by a vulnerability and points of contact for remediation.

  • Notify system owner of vulnerability and provide remediation advice consistent with policy.

  • Work with remediation owners to test effectiveness and ease of deployment.

  • Review exception requests received from product owners to enumerate risks associated with certain vulnerabilities.

  • Drive remediation of security risks including tracking of issues and action plans, and partnering with patch coordination teams, technology/application owners, and business units to prioritize and enhance remediation efforts.

  • Group and prioritize remediation findings in a manner that increases efficiency.

  • Research industry best practices for most effective tactical security controls and mitigations.

  • Identify operational roadblocks to ensure timely remediation and countermeasures.

  • Track attestation of controls and update attack surface tracking data.

  • Provide approved exception data to corporate governance, risk and compliance tools.

  • Various projects, reports, and tasks as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and five years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and three years of prior relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be willing and able to travel 5% of the time

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security Certifications (i.e. Security Plus, CISSP, etc)

  • Experience managing a vulnerability management program/platform such as Qualys, Rapid7 or Tenable

  • Experience managing Linux and Windows servers

  • Experience managing Data Warehouse nodes

  • Experience with Ruby, SQL DB Queries, etc.

  • Experience with Patch Management programs
