This position manages a team of experienced technical professionals in Product Support for Avionics products. Responsible for product support planning, modification campaign planning and execution, product performance metrics and analysis, supporting root cause identification issue resolution, and product warranty analysis. Acts as a Voice of the Customer for the business to drive issue resolution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Owns the execution of long-term strategy and operational direction, establishment and execution of short- to medium-term operational plans for the Product Support team. Liaises with senior management to ensure that customer support strategies and activities are integrated with business unit and organization objectives.

  • Performs cadences addressing and resolving customer issues and driving towards improved product performance. Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis; requires the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and influence others. Implements continuous improvement initiatives for Product and Technical Service processes to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

  • A key aspect of this role is the selection, development and evaluation of personnel to ensure efficient operation of the department. This includes workforce planning and organizational development initiatives such as: Talent Management, Performance Management, Change Management and Training to ensure operational excellence and the development of staff skills, team building and professionalism.

  • Leads product support planning process and manages execution of procedures to ensure business objectives are met

  • Prioritizes resources to ensure cost effectiveness and coordination of activities

  • Creates and defines goals for product support, monitors performance metrics to ensure productivity targets are achieved

  • Reviews analyzed data, consolidates the results and presents complex analysis to stakeholders to improve product and technical support

  • Handles complex customer matters with high profile customers and coordinates for issue resolution to satisfy customer requirements

  • Coordinates with Customer Support representatives to identify support planning needs

  • Accountable for export regulation compliance within the department

  • 10% Travel

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws / regulations.
