This position can be located on site or remotely from any US based location

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, performance tuning, backup and root cause analysis on databases, application, and server performance issues

  • Implement industry security standards for databases to meet corporate requirements

  • Builds forecasting modules which identify future capacity problems. Propose lean solutions that are available with sufficient lead time to ensure the businesses ability to act.

  • Leads and coordinates proof of concepts for validation against requirements and solutions design review and ranking w/ customer & leadership.

  • Java development, debugging, and analytics for Java WebApp applications

  • Develops and maintains technical documentation and proposals

  • Responsible for requirements capture activities within the team including both customer and derived technical requirements. Ensures use cases, workflow, and requirements are accurate and complete

  • Regularly works with other members of the organization as part of a cross-functional team and/or leads large cross- functional initiatives. Builds strong relationships with customers and peers. Receives little to no instruction from leadership and is expected to delegate to peers when appropriate.

  • Evaluates customer’s requirements and performs trade studies to identify the most balanced technical solutions in terms of operational capabilities based on established criteria.

  • Understands industry trends within specific disciplines and evaluates them for use within Collins Aerospace solutions.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • 3 years DBA experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)

  • 5 years Java development experience

  • Experience with Linux

    Preferred qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge in Database Administration, performance monitoring and optimization (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL)

  • Fluency in SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, data mining and analytics

  • Java development, debugging

  • Linux Server Administration

  • IT infrastructure and cloud administration (AWS)

  • Docker experience

  • Systems performance analysis (Elastic stack, Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios, Kibana, etc.)
