Supervisor, Facility Services and custodial – 3rd ShiftWe are currently searching for a Sr. Supervisor, Facility Services – 3rd Shift to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA (1000). Supervises the ongoing maintenance and planning at a site. Supervises employees and/or contractors who construct, maintain and repair utilities systems, buildings and equipment. Manages the maintenance and repair of plant equipment, building and grounds. Because this is a third shift position there will an emphasis on custodial management.
Provide input to Facilities Manager for strategic planning and expansion plans and participate in the definition of the metrics for the maintenance department.
Daily startup meetings with direct reports to strengthen confidence and sense of continuous improvement.
This position’s normal hours are 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. The position does require will some weekend and holiday coverage duties.
Take an active role in developing and/or executing a successful safety program
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limit to,
Coordinate maintenance technicians and employees and/or building trade contractors who construct, maintain, and repair systems, buildings, grounds, and equipment.
This position will be heavily involved in the snow removal process during the winter months.
Coordinate the housekeeping and cleaning staff during the third shift. This group is responsible for many of our buildings’ general cleaning and all of the floor care.
Possible to oversee contractors and professionals working in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, and general maintenance trades if emergencies arise throughout the early morning.
Sets priorities and forecasts to allocate limited resources to complete all necessary preventive and corrective maintenance at the site.
Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department.
Assigns projects and tasks to team; Selects, develops and manages the performance of the team members.
Foster personal and professional development of team, including self
May have responsibility for environmental, health and safety policies and procedures at the site. Ensures workplace training and safety plans are fully implemented. Ensures the area complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and health requirements.
Control and authorizes vacations of team members without impacting operations & facilities services plans.
Analyzes and authorizes the first level of purchase requisitions that are assigned to the custodial department.
May be responsible to maintain and create maintenance documentation such as methods, procedures, instructions, etc.
