Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization has an opportunity for a Staff Technical Project Manager with a passion for problem solving and satisfying customer needs in the development of software solutions for internal Engineering customers. This opportunity will be focused on understanding our Global Trade policies and processes and developing strategies on how these may apply to Engineering tools. Additional opportunities with advancing our Engineering tool solutions include Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps or DSO) and Automated Software Release (ASR).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Bring together key customer representatives to derive requirements, make trades, and determine the best path forward for software tool initiatives

  • Track, analyze, and report execution metrics as required to understand program status and performance

  • Mentor teammates

  • Generate estimates for software tool initiatives in a high-complexity environment

  • Represents the department to the engineering customer, as well as other internal and external parties

  • Effectively interact and build trust with team members from many different backgrounds, including engineering management, engineering teams, program management, and operations

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required

  • Previous project management experience, leading and managing similar software tool projects

  • Working knowledge of software tool development/deployment, and a strong understanding of the relationships between all functional disciplines, including Systems, Software, and IT Infrastructure

  • Ability to adapt to change

  • Knowledge or experience in system requirements capture, design, and decomposition

  • Understanding of system validation and verification processes for technical product development

  • Accomplish tasks on schedule

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
