Raytheon Technologies Principle Specialist, Industry & Segment Analysis in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Collins Aerospace Corporate Strategy Organization is seeking an Industry and Segment Analyst to join our Industry & Segment Analytics team (Commercial & Defense). The Industry & Segment Analytics team focuses on the overall aerospace industry, management of key trends and strategic forecast initiatives used within our Collins Strategic Business Units (SBUs) strategic planning (SFP) and annual operating plan (AOP).

This position can be worked remotely near any Collins Aerospace site location throughout the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the analyzing key industry trends within the commercial and defense segments

  • Leads collection of internal and external business intelligence data to conduct complex data processes, analysis, and forecast models

  • Aggregate data inputs, compares forecast-to-actuals and performs deep-dive analysis to improve business intelligence and forecasts associated with the long-range planning and review process

  • Conducts forecast modeling to evaluate various scenarios associated with the worldwide fleet and to better understand growth and risk impacts associated with internal planning

  • Performs ad hoc requests from management and executive leadership on various aircraft platform or tail-level detail to understand business impacts

  • Partner with strategic business units (SBUs) on future analytics projects and forecasting opportunities with internal and external data sets

  • Manages future state of fleet analytics capabilities, and affiliated reporting systems, enhance existing intelligence and tracking of key segment growth.

  • Create PowerPoint presentations that are used in consultation with segment leaders regarding business intelligence data to provide recommendations and develop strategies.

  • Present key findings to management in a clear and concise manner. Provides regular input into corporate or Executive Leadership Team (ELT) updates

  • Provide training on key tools to various team members on SQL, Alteryx and Tableau when needed.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be willing to travel <10%

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with SQL, Alteryx or Tableau

  • Analytical mindset and problem solving skills, ability to operate at both strategic and tactical level

  • Research skills with both public information and commissioned reports

  • Problem solving ability to identify innovative solutions to achieve strategic objectives

    Analytical software and digital tools:

  • SQL, Alteryx, Teradata, PowerBI, R, Tableau

  • Business Warehouse/Business Objects

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
