The SAP Business Administrator will ensure that the company’s SAP environments are functioning efficiently and provide world-class customer support. This role supports key SAP Applications which touches all aspects of the company’s financial, ordering, inventory, purchasing, shipping, and engineering practices. You will form cross-department collaboration with technical teams, as well as provide hands-on experience in daily operations and project initiatives.

The Senior SAP Basis Administrator will be responsible for the optimal performance and uptime of Enterprise Critical Business Systems within the SAP landscape across the global environment. This person will recommend options for driving efficiencies, improving performance, and responsible for moving to the next generation SAP Infrastructure. In addition, this person will analyze processes and data to identify automation opportunities, including key activities such as opportunities for improvement, document future state business processes, and manage delivery of new functionality, maintain scalability, and promptly recommend system-wide improvements.

The candidate will be empowered to make technical decisions with latitude for independent judgment. By analysis of system data and partnership with other company technical/business leaders, the Senior Basis Admin can identify enhancement targets in the landscape and play a key role in the corporate Digital strategy. You will bring fresh, innovative ideas that embrace a continuous improvement culture.

This individual can sit at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Develop understanding of key business processes within SAP and collaborate with application / functional team members in designing solutions and process improvements, including data center, network, and security teams to drive solutions for SAP that meet our standards and roadmaps

  • Develop and execute against systems architecture roadmaps including SAP landscape management and other related systems Identify; provide strategic input to future vision of the SAP Infrastructure

  • Actively participate in SAP infrastructure design including server, storage, high availability, and disaster recovery capabilities

Operational:

  • Perform core SAP Basis administrator functions including software installation and setup, enhancement pack and support pack installation and upgrade, performance monitoring, tuning and capacity management utilizing enterprise standards and leveraging best operating practices

  • Participate in health-check, break / fix and operational report activities

  • Prepare formal documentation including specifications, requirements, logical system design documents, system diagrams, and test scripts

  • Support SAP landscape strategy through client copies and system refreshes

  • Administer transport management (ChaRM); SAP basis standard jobs; manage background processes

  • Monitor, analyze, and identify trends for system performance and resource utilization

  • Generate and analyze metrics for the SAP landscape to make recommendations for improvements

  • Support the SAP DT teams during critical system outages and maintenance periods

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience. In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • 7+ years' experience working in an SAP Basis role, with understanding of IT networking concepts, servers, storage, databases, PCs, and applications architecture

  • Knowledge of systems architecture / performance management methodologies and tools

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization including senior leadership

  • Experience administrating SAP ECC, BW, Solution Manager, and HANA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP technology, architecture and interfaces including SAP batch processing

  • Prior work in a large, global SAP environment

  • Experience with Oracle, Linux, and Cloud

  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and / or LEAN manufacturing tools and methodologies

  • Experience with SAP S/4, CRM, SNC, SLT, Hybris, and Web Dispatchers
