Project Engineering Discipline
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines. Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management. Prepares proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Reviews project and budget status, manages schedules and prepares reports. Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Represents RTX as the primary customer contact for projects. Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, manufacturing
and administrative areas. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Responsible for procurement of appropriate development hardware used for testing and development. Meets program schedules and budgets. Provides input to the integrated master schedule for project(s).
This Project Engineering (PE) position is with the MIKRO Engineering team. The PE is responsible for developing and tracking Earned Value type schedules for all major technical tasks. This position focuses on the technology development and subsequent transition to low rate production activity and encompasses all project discipline tasks.
Execute assigned tasks to meet schedule requirements
Create and maintain/status Level 2/3 schedule for all technical tasks.
Work with business analyst to update Earned Value tool/database.
Execute all project engineering tasks as part of the IPD process.
Create technical documents that provide engineering requirements for tooling.
10% travel may be required for this position.
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of project engineering experience or 3 + years with an advance degree
US Citizenship is required due to government program requirements.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Comfortable with customer interaction.
Comfortable in a shop floor environment.
Able to work with earned value and basic project management tools.
