Collins Aerospace Aerostructures is looking for an Associate Director Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Mto design, develop, implement and oversee the organization's EH&S programs and procedures that will safeguard employees and the environment. You will confirm that the site complies with all EH&S regulations and UTC requirements. In addition, you will lead a team of EH&S and site security professionals at the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participates in management review meetings to present EH&S performance, discuss upcoming EH&S actions to improve functional performance, and proactively identify and address EH&S issues which may affect operations or may provide strategic advantage to the business.

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of new and current EH&S training program.

  • Lead continuous improvement in EH&S while ensuring comprehensive operational compliance.

  • Lead the EH&S program to achieve and maintain compliance with current and future legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.

  • Advocate the importance of EH&S Safety in the organization and actively supports the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.

  • Collaborate with operations to integrate EH&S performance into branch operations.

  • Collaborates with other EH&S professionals to establish or adopt best practices relevant to the industry.

  • Responsible for appropriate procedures, approvals, coordination and control of hazardous, regulated and solid wastes.

  • Liaison with the security team that includes but not limited to: Site Monitoring & Surveillance, Badging, Visitor Requests etc.

Basic Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) or equivalent and 10 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams

  • Communicating and presenting to senior and executive level leadership

  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with California state specific EH&S regulations and laws

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

  • Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH)

  • Experience with ISO14001 or 45001

  • Experience with Title V

  • Experience working in a union environment

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing or related industry

  • Experience with SAP
