Collins Aerospace is looking for a Buyer, Airbus Programs who will be able to provide delivery assurance in a fast-paced high matrixed environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day supply management activities, such as placing purchase orders and managing suppliers to ensure they execute on quality, on-time delivery, and cost to meet our financial goal. You will interact with multiple programs, departments, and both domestic and international suppliers. In addition, you will play a key role in developing and managing the supplier relationship and you will need to work in a team environment.
The position is currently working remote. May need to work onsite in a hybrid capacity when circumstances permit.
Prepare and place purchase orders, manage several suppliers/components, and ensure product is delivered on time and meets quality standards.
Responsible for delivery and quality assurance, cost management, quote preparation, negotiations, and work transfers.
Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Attend program status and production meetings.
Communicate status updates to internal customers.
M eet multiple deadlines and ensure targets are identified and met.
Actively participate in the development and execution of supplier strategies to improve delivery and quality performance.
Interface with program leadership, engineering, quality, production control, internal and external suppliers, customers, and the supply base.
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events and activities.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes; may include materials, procurement, sourcing, supplier performance.
Understanding of contract structure, business terms and conditions.
Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience.
Works well in a team environment, highly motivated.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Time management skills and the ability to handle high volumes of work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organization skills.
Work independently, remain calm under pressure, and deal with ambiguity.
Proficient in Excel, creating formulas and creating PowerPoint presentations to visually show status of projects.
Able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally (when current environment permits)
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
