Working alongside Disaster Recovery Manager to support all Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives to ensure high reliability and performance of the 24/7/365 Collins Aerospace (Collins) computing environment. Collaborate with Collins business and digital technology organizations in addition to multiple vendors for the design, installation, implementation and testing to support Collins DR requirements. This individual can sit at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Disaster Recovery, Business Impact Analysis

  • Collaborate to define and maintain standards, guidelines, plans, processes and procedures within the scope of the position.

  • Work with each business/site to build BIA’s and ensure they are updated annually

  • Facilitate design and development of DR plans to ensure compliance

  • Assist in the development of domain specific options and provide recommendations based on a combination of business criteria and technical specifications utilizing technologies available in the marketplace

  • Responsible for helping support DR in multiple international and domestic locations

  • Knowledge and experience with the standard project management processes

  • Responsible for vendor coordination for applicable services

  • Understanding of supplier service agreements and associated expectations, and requirements

  • Consistently support Disaster Recovery policies and procedures throughout the environment

  • Participate in applicable audits.

  • On-call activities to support the effective operation of the production environment


  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure environments

  • Hands on experience with mission critical, highly available, storage and backup systems.

  • 2 years of experience working with Wintel, UNIX, and Client technologies and best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to navigate Excel at an Intermediate and /or Advanced Level – build formulas, link sheets, etc.

  • Time management skills

  • Understand project management lifecycle

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong customer service management skills

  • General knowledge of SAP and Oracle services and implementation best practices

  • ITIL Knowledge

  • ServiceNow Knowledge (end user experience and/or admin)

  • Experience working in a large, matrix company

  • CMDB Knowledge

  • Technical Recovery Plans

  • DRI International – Certification

  • DR Exercise Preparedness Experience

  • DR – hands on Datacenter Recovery
