Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Program Planner & Scheduler, Military professional who will lead program planning and scheduling efforts through capture, program startup, establishment of Earned Value (EV) baseline, and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs). You will also lead schedule analysis and risk assessments; and provide guidance and support to Program Planners/Schedulers.

Position is currently working remote, when circumstances permit will need to work onsite in Chula Vista or Riverside CA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and control all planning and scheduling operations for assigned programs and be the interface for all planning and scheduling issues with Program and Planning leadership

  • Development of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) based on requirements provided by the customer as part of a Request For Proposal (RFP)

  • Development of a DID and DCMA compliant, executable IMS after contract award

  • resource loading the IMS prior to an Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) that demonstrates thorough cost and schedule integration

  • Integrate IMS with EV system. Assist with the configuration of the EVMS to support program and contract requirements

  • Detail planning and maintenance throughout the program’s lifecycle that incorporates contractual and programmatic changes into the IMS in order to maintain realistic, current contract schedule baselines

  • Detailed analysis of the IMS and supporting documents to ensure quality, completeness and compliance

  • Lead weekly and monthly reviews of IMS status including but not limited to

  • results of critical path analysis and schedule risk analysis (SRA)

  • schedule variance analysis

  • results of ‘what if’ exercises to the Program Manager, the customer and potentially to senior management

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Program Master Schedule and Integrated Master Plan (IMP)

  • Participate in developing and establishing business unit planning and scheduling procedures and training

  • Develop knowledge within the team and share learnings across Aerostructures

  • Lead the development of system enhancements to improve program planning and scheduling

  • Establish clear and robust metrics to measure team progress

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR

  • Advance degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  • Experience with planning/scheduling in defense industry

  • MS Project experience

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

  • Able to communicate written/verbal and make presentations to senior and executive level leadership.

  • MS PowerPoint-create presentations

  • Experience with Government regulations pertaining to program planning and Earned Value (EV) compliance.

  • Understanding the relationship between IMS, EVMS, and ERP systems

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working in a competitive proposal environment

  • SAP experience

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience

  • Project EVMS tool experience

  • Understanding of basic product development principles

  • Current Government Security Clearance

  • Experience with onboarding NPI programs

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity

  • MS Project 2010+

  • MS office suite
