Intern will perform stress analysis of aerospace structures, support continuous improvement activities, and network & learn from subject matter experts.
Required: Basic understanding of engineering principles, including stress analysis. MS Office and engineering writing proficiency.
Preferred: Knowledge of finite element analysis software (e.g. ANSYS, NASTRAN/PATRAN). Basic understanding of composite materials.
Supporting Visual Management – updates, more extensive analysis, posting
Administrative tasks – copying, filing etc.
Record Retention – manifesting boxes, completing logs, creating box numbers etc.
Updating Excel data & files – data entry, tracking of information
Enterprise Excellence support
Teamcenter input & structure
Auditing support / preparation
Kaizen & Lean Event documentation
Review & Validation of Standard Work
Up to 20% of your job:
Stress analysis, loads evaluations, trade studies
Analytical tools and finite element model development
Assist with stress documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Office - including formatting data input, data manipulation, formulas, charting
More than 2 years college / university – in pursuit of a degree
Can work independently
Advanced writing skills (e.g. ability to document findings and draft a professional document)
Good analytical skills
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a U.S Citizen or U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
BUSINESS NEED: Support of developing and existing programs with structural stress analysis activities.
VALUE TO INTERN: The intern will be able observe and participate in the day-to-day activities of a stress engineer and develop hands-on skills required to be a stress analyst supporting nacelle structures.
