We have an amazing Opportunity right now as a Advanced Chemical Lab Technician
Summary of Responsibilities: Perform destructive and non-destructive testing methods to ensurematerial meets customer requirementsEssential Functions: Prepare samples for analysis using established methods Perform equipment set up and calibration Analyze samples using established methods and make minor modifications to procedures forunique materials Accept or reject material based on specifications Organize, report, and maintain records of analysis Enter test results into various databases Assist manager in developing new methods, techniques and equipment for testing materials May orient, train, and check work of other employees Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled Perform Continuous Improvement initiatives May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level ofthis position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills Adhere to ACE guidelines and perform ACE duties as required Adhere to all EH & S guidelines, including wearing of required personal protective equipment
Must have good attendance record Must have strong communication skills Must be able to work overtime when required Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs independently May be required to pass visual exam in accordance with HMI SLP Must have strong mechanical aptitude Must have personal computer skills Must be able to demonstrate ability to set-up and operate appropriate machinery Must be physically capable of: bending, lifting, squatting, twisting, overhead reaching,standing on feet for long period of time, and climbing stairs
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must have 1+ years experience in lab work or related filed
Preferred Qualifications Must have minimum 2 year degree in related field or equivalent experience Must understand basic principles of metallurgy, physics, and chemistryPrefer leadership/supervisory experience
