The Buyer is responsible for supporting new product development programs with timely tactical and strategic support that meets all internal and external customer requirements including design intent and optimization, quality, cost, and delivery targets. The position requires robustly following and implementing supply chain, program management and engineering standard work for new product introduction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follows Collins Aerospace’s best practice standard work for procurement processes including creation of procurement compliance packages that support requirements outlined in FAR and DFAR governed procurement.

  • Acts as liaison for engineering technology, material and component optimization, new product cost analysis, design readiness and manufacturing producibility.

  • Actively involved in sourcing strategy and vision interacting with commodity management.

  • Executes procurement transactions.

  • Ensures development hardware and FAI delivery timelines are met.

  • Supports supplier development activity with Supplier Performance teams

  • Validates and refines cost reduction initiatives.

  • Coordinates with Procurement on negotiating pricing, contracts, and terms.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

​Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supply chain/procurement with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.

  • No travel at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions, post pandemic, travel up to 25% of the time could be necessary.

  • Professional Supply Chain Certification Preferred.

  • Familiarization with FAR and DFAR procurement rules, with the ability to produce compliant purchasing packages using the Collins Procurement Tools.

  • Ability to read and understand the basics of Build to Print mechanical drawings.

  • Experience with new product development projects in varying sizes and durations.

    In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $54,500- $82,800; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
