Raytheon Technologies Commodity Manager in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Role Overview

This position is for an Experienced Commodity & Strategic Sourcing professional, overseeing supplier selection, contract negotiation and strategic relationship management. Responsible for partnering with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve sourcing strategy in support of Colorado Springs commodities primarily focused on soft goods such as leather, fabric upholstery, and foam cushions.

  • Executes commodity and strategic sourcing strategy while implements supply chain strategies driving cost reduction.

  • Evaluates and selects suppliers based on capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness.

  • Primary focal for driving contracts negotiations, negotiating terms and conditions, awarding contracts, developing new qualified sources of supply.

  • Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve sourcing strategy.

  • Analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.

  • Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across multi-tiered supply base for given commodities.

  • Leads sourcing process from RFP Scope, Negotiation and Execution to contract signature.

  • Facilitate Value Engineering opportunities with Suppliers such as DFM, cost savings and drives projects to closure.

  • Ensures supplier or commodity is performing to delivery, quality, and cost perspective requirements.

  • Providing strategic recommendations to all levels of management.

  • Responsibility for projects to support strategic and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Initiating and managing entire projects with significant scope and complexity.

  • Must possess proven ability to handle multiple customers and priorities with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and strategic initiatives.

  • Develops a strategic plan for commodity and strategic suppliers and must possess strong strategic vision to develop long term category and supplier strategies.

  • Proven knowledge of procurement and supply chain modern processes and techniques.

  • Responsibility for category savings reporting and targets, improving supplier performance and exiting underperforming suppliers.

  • Ability to develop strategic project initiatives and demonstrated success in developing tactical plans carrying through to successful execution.

  • Experience in leading key projects or programs for complex commodities in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Working with management to address all aspects of category business plans, and pricing through minimizing commercial risk, lowering cost of ownership and meeting customers’ expectations.

    Requirements Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills – credibility, influencing, presentation, negotiating.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Experience and knowledge of Supply Management (Product or Indirect), Administration / Commerce, Legal, Purchasing, Business, Engineering a plus.

  • Proven experience in project management, execution of major projects and customer focus/relationship management a plus.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $103,500- $212,00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
