Principal Software Engineer

Colorado Springs, CO


  • Integrate C2BMC software into the C2BMC test suites at the MDIOC, primarily Virtual servers

  • Develop site and event specific configurations to support test, war games, and exercise events

  • Operate and troubleshoot C2BMC systems during test events

  • Work with external National Team (CLAW) personnel to resolve test lab issues

  • Work with C2BMC Operations and Sustainment personnel to resolve installation and processing issues

  • Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files

  • Perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data

  • Trouble shoot both test and operational issues

  • Document test results and prepare test status documentatio

  • Author Spiral and build-level test plan documents and procedures

  • Create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues

  • Assist software development personnel with the investigation and resolution of issues

  • Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents

  • Develop and implement detailed test plans and procedures to test C2BMC in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities

  • Plan and lead integration C2BMC tests with external elements and sensors

  • Review and provide feedback of system specifications, development, test, network documents as necessary

  • Attend meetings with other C2BMC FAs, customers, etc. and represent the Integration team

  • Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows HW platforms from the OS up to the C2BMC developed applications

  • Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in documentation to be delivered to the customer

  • Developing installation scripts to automate the system installation

  • Developing test plans/procedures for software integration test

  • Integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports

  • Coordinate the execution of SW integration tests to verify system operation

  • Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration

  • Submit problem reports for errors found

  • Implementing Information Assurance directives on the systems to include running IA scans

  • Coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members


  • Integration of separate software components into a single system

  • Ansible and automated installs

  • Integrating complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms

  • Linux and Windows system administration including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up

  • VMWare systems administration and installing and configuring VMWare from the ground up

  • Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system

  • Scripting languages (developing, debugging and maintaining)

  • Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code Additional highly desirable skills include:

  • Familiarity with Java and object oriented development

  • VM Horizon View - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word)

  • Missile Defense or Integrated Air and Missile Defense domain experience

  • Software generation (actual coding) and troubleshooting analysis for large integrated systems

  • Requirement development, design refinement, coding and integration

  • Demonstrated team leadership and exceptional people skills

  • Demonstrated innovation leadership to work in a highly adaptable environment

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office products

  • Current Active Secret Clearance

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent years’ experience plus 8 years of hands on experience in a similar environment. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Sec+ certification required

Position is based in Colorado Springs at the MDIOC but sometimes multi-week travel to customer sites (e.g. EUCOM, CENTCOM) and contractor sites (e.g. Huntsville, HWY83) may be required

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $91,300 to $173,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
