The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Forge Module Center is looking for an Automation Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for start-up support, debug and programming of robot, PLC and other programmable automation equipment. Complete understanding of fully integrated systems is imperative. Deep understanding and experience of PLC logic, network architecture, electrical schematics & robot programming is required. Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic design, functionality and integration will be needed to fully assist other maintenance disciplines to achieve maximum equipment uptime. Complete understanding of system process requirements and sequencing. Machine reporting and monitoring will be part of the day to day task. Assisting in the procurement and execution of Pratt and Whitney standard hardware, software and robot programming standard implementation for new projects.
First responder for faulted equipment
Debugs and validates the safe return to system automated state
Validates equipment reporting to network is correct and assist in generation of daily reports
Work with other maintenance personal as the lead for integrated PLC controlled systems. Identifies fault, assigns recovery task, validates completion, ensures a full report is documented and recorded
Ensures all safeties are functional on a daily basis
Record and revise any PLC logic, robot programming, and record any other programmable equipment changes
Maintain system cycle time requirements as engineered
Suggest changes to standard design requirement
Assist in the procurement of new systems by providing technical feedback to vendor questions and ensuring all proposal meet the Pratt and Whitney standard requirements for Controls Hardware, Software Design Robot integration and Safety implementation
Authority and accountable during the design and integration phases of new systems. Responsible for all standard buy off procedures as related to Milestone Gateway process. Ensure all safety recovery and design / integration of all equipment is done in a robust manor as outlined in the standard workflow
Bachelor’s degree other technical degree college or trade school in related field and/or 10+ years related experience in the field of maintaining / commissioning fully integrated manufacturing automated systems. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in studio 5000 Logix designer, Factory Talk, RS Networks, AutoCAD, Eplan and MS Office Suite.
Extensive use, debug and setup Drives, Ethernet and other networks, Panel Views, PLC code, safety circuits, sensors, Armor Starts, robot path touch up and stabling device to device communication.
